Most of the power supplied by batteries is direct current supply. Even in the car, the power is supplied in direct current. Hence the music and stereo players are constructed in such a way that they work in direct current. Some of these systems may be portable and can be used at home. In such cases they need to be played in alternating current since AC is used domestically. It is not possible to play a music player from a car in alternating current supply.
